Cary Auguston
Guitarist Cary Auguston has been playing guitar for 20+ years and is a diehard, old school metalhead. He has been part of the Seattle music scene since the 80's playing in different bands on guitar and bass. Over the years, he has drawn inspiration from many guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoades, Al Dimeloa, Andreas Kisser, Gary Holt and so many others. In his arsenal he has B.C. Rich and Jackson Guitars for his picking pleasure and Marshall Amps with ADA preamps to drive his sound.
His approach to songwriting is based on the song rhythm being the focal point and the lead work is then layered for a little extra flavor. Now with the new challenge of singing lead vocals as well as playing guitar at the same time, the whole band has had to step up and provide strong backing vocals to go along with the new direction of the vocal parts in the band. His love for the guitar is shown in his playing and can be heard on any of the COF releases. With the new recording and tour 2010 looks to be a great year!
